Hello all! I have a 96 S15 Jimmy 2wd 4 dr. I have only had it about 4 days or so and so far this is the first time its done this. Went to the store tonight and when I came back out I unlocked the vehicle from the hatch with my key. Well, the corner light and tailights started flashing, along with the interior lights, and the car wouldnt turnover at all. I unhooked the battery, hooked it back up and it was still doing it. I finally was able to get it to start by turning the key to the run position, and then hooking the battery up while it was turned to run. It took a few cranks to get it to start, like it wasnt getting fuel. But it finally started and has been fine so far. I have looked through the owners manual and can find no mention of any kind of factory security system other than for the Factory radio, which it dosnt have. Any ideas what Im looking for here? I havnt checked for an aftermarket alarm, but I will do so tomorrow. Thanks for any help you can give.

 

Sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm that does not have a sensor in the rear gate to disarm the alarm when it is unlocked properly.
