Default Stuck Orifice Valve

I have a 01 Chevy zr2 Blazer 4.3. I went and purchased a new a/c compressor/dryer and when I went to replace the orifice valve it was stuck in the tube. I tried tweezers and now I have nibbled the plastic and screen away so far back in the tube I can't get to it. Any suggestions other then go without a/c?
Thanks

I have no idea how to help you; I just had to comment on the title of your thread. Apparently I'm tired enough that orifice valve is hilarious.

Ok... Have you tried a right angle hook pick? something small enough to go into the tube with an angled tip that you could use to hook around the edge of the screen?

On the fixed orifice tube there are two tabs, (past where you could reach them with tweezers), here is the proper tool for removing the FOT. As long as you have it out, why not put in a VOV, (Variable Orifice Valve)? MUCH better A/C performance

Buy Mastercool GM and Ford A/C Orifice Tube Remover and Installer MSC91002 at Advance Auto Parts_____

Come to think of it, they probably rent an A/C tool kit for free!

Thanks Captain,
I didn't have any luck getting the tube out so just left it. Pretty much ruined the screen but AC seems to be working ok so far. Went to autozone to pick up some parts for another truck and noticed they rent an orifice tube puller. ugh, Wish I would of known that. And about the VOV. No one mentioned it to my when I got the parts. Should of came to this site first. Anyway thanks for the info. appreciate it.

The zone is a few years behind when it comes to technology, experience and knowledgeable counter people. Might want to make Blazer Forum your first stop from now on
