Default Stumped on 1999 no crank, no nothing....

Hey guys,

My 99 blazer wont start. Fuel pump replaced a couple of months ago with AC delco and has been running fine. checked all fuses all are good. Battery is full charge with 12v showing (radio, lights, windows all have power like normal).

If I put the key in the "run" position all dash lights show up (brake, battery, check gauges, etc) and then go off like normal as if it's ready to start. When i turn the key to the "start" position it kills everything (clock on radio, battery symbol on dash). I can hear the fuel pump prime like normal.

I dont think this is the ICM or passlock issue.

Need some help. Please advise.
Thanks!

Take the battery cables off and clean them so they're shiny, tighten 'em back up.

Cleaned the terminals that's not it. I'm wondering about the Park/Neutral switch. Doesn't power first run through this before sending a signal to the selenoid?

I'm drawing voltage down when I go to the start position on the key. This tends to make me think it's an issue before the starter can kick in.

Thinking out loud. Sorry, any advice appreciated.

Check all your grounds and check the connections on your starter. Have you tried another battery by chance?

Default Problem found...update on start issue

Well, I pulled the 2 bolts for the starter, did the "twist and turn" and what I discovered was the lead wire that goes from the solenoid to the starter terminal was completely separated in half.

There was a cloth sleeve over the wire and when I slid it off the two wires looked like they were twisted at one time. A cheap fix from previous owner. I used a piece of wire I had and jumped from the solenoid end to the starter terminal and she fired up!

This weekend I plan to heat shrink a better connection, but for now it will do.

Thanks for the suggestions!
