Being way out of alignment can cause noises like you're hearing.

Not as bad as when it was lifted, but the inside of both tires were pretty worn as opposed to the rest of the tire so I'm assuming that means. I'll get an alignment and check how it drives over the next 2 days.

Why not just ask the alignment guy what is making the noise? Chances are he can't align it if there is something wrong there.

Just wanted to say thanks for everyone who has helped me with all the issues I've had this past year with this car.

Turns out it was the wheel bearings as the alignment did pretty much nothing. But As I was going to get that fixed, i decided that I've already put too much money into a car that will need more work in the future and as mcuh as i like it, I can't justify putting more money into this car. It wasn't in the best of condition when i received it, so I'm gonna be junking it. Thank you all for your help once again.

Charlie, what happened to the test when you rotated the tires front to back ? Did the 'whump' noise go to the rear or did it stay in the front ?
