2001 blazer 236 tcase opt np8..
I was switching out of 4hi back into 2 hi when all the lights on the dash 4wd switch turned off and my service 4wd light came on..
Now my tcase Is in neutral and I don't know how to get it out considering nothing happens when I press any of the 4wd buttons.
How do I get the tcase out of nuetral and is anything broken? Could it be a bad encoder motor?

Give this a try:
In the underhood fuse panel: Remove the ATC fuse for 30 minutes. This will reset the TCCM, (Transfer Case Control Module). Cycle the ignition from off to on 5 times. This will clear the memory.
To shift the NV236 transfer case out of NEUTRAL:
1. Set the parking brake and apply the regular brake pedal.
2. Start the vehicle with the transmission in PARK (P).
3. Press the button for the desired transfer case position
(2HI, 4HI, AUTO 4WD or 4LO).
4. Put the transmission in NEUTRAL (N).
5. Shift the transmission lever to the desired position.
After the transfer case has shifted out of NEUTRAL,
the NEUTRAL light will go out.
A re-engagement sound is normal when shifting out of
NEUTRAL.

So what exactly woujld cause this to happen.. it happened to me today.. I was parked.. put it in reverse and backed out of a parking space, as soon as i put it into drive (im pretty sure i did anyway).. it wouldnt move.. at which point i kinda freaked out and ****ed to park and killed the engine.. After calming down a second i turned it back on and that's kind of whne i noticed the light on the tcase switch stuck in neutral.. Is this something i should be conerened about happeneing on a regular basis and if so what might be the problem and fix..
Side note: I was having issues with it getting stuch in the 4LO for a while until my landlord noticed a dry rotted vac line which we replaced and that solved that problem.. I noticed the main line is dry rotting also, that line is feeding into a T where the smaller line he replaced was.. Is it possible that hose needs replaced now?
