Default Throttling Problems

Yes having serious acceleration problem my Blazer once it is started it excellerates the RPMs off the charts, you don't even have to touch the gas peddle. I drove to town and back and the throttle never dropped below 1500 rpms. The only reason I drove it like that was to get my wife to her Dr.'s app, I changed the tps , Mas, air, all vacume hoses tap, I'm wondering what it can be. It's really dangerous to drive it it almost ses like the cruise control is driving it all the time.but it dosent work. Can someone give me some advise, please

  1. Do you have a scanner that can read live data?
  2. Do you have any codes?
  3. Did any work or changes precede this issue?
  4. Have you looked at the IAC valve yet?
  5. Have you cleaned the throttle body?
  6. Does this still happen if you disconnect the throttle cable at the throttle body

well I can't get any codes because my data link isn't responding I've cleaned the throttle body and a new iac valve.I haven't tried to disconnect the throttle cable yet, it has done this sporadically over the last few months but it's got bad after I've been having problems with my 4wd engaging and disengaging.just acouple of days ago replaced 4wd actuator cable.

Check the throttle cable. Had the wife's 97 start idling high an throttle cable was sticking. Lubed it up and all is good. I did order a new one though

In the very short term, see if you can pull up the accelerator pedal with the toe of your shoe while sitting in park.
