Default ticking sound and gushing sound

1. My 98 Blazer has a ticking sound that sounds just like the blinker is on (but it's not). Sometimes it goes real fast. Usually quits for awhile and comes back for no apparent reason(s). I had the auto shop at my school replace some "box" where the sound comes from. It was down by the floor on the passenger side. No help. They didn't know what else to do.

2. Sometimes it sounds as if water is gushing around behind the dash.

Any advice on either?

my guess is that you have water in your coolant system, or are low on coolant.

LOL... Sure is water in there. Coolant too! haha.

I had to pick. It was too funny.

Anyway, I agree that you probably have AIR in the cooling system that is causing the noise you are experiencing. The gurgling, not the ticking...

Check the cruise control cable on the engine. Make sure that the vacuum line from the PCV valve in the driver's side valve cover isn't resting on the cruise cable. If it is, then you may be hearing the PCV valve operating...

That Fast Intermittent Ticking Sound you are Hearing is usually the first sign of a bad MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH.....
