Default Timing Marks

I have just replaced the intake gaskets on a 2000 Blazer 4.3L. I have lost the distributer setting so now need to re-install as if new. There are 2 marks on the harmonic balancer. Oneat 12 oclock and oneat 3 oclock, looking from the front. Which is the correct one to set the timing.

It worked beautifully. Set the distributor where it was supposed to be and the vehicle started up at the first turn of the key.

Thanks for the help.

I have done nothing other than stated above but a contributer on another site tells me that I need to now have the camshaft retard reset with a scanner tool. Is this necessary. I have not driven the vehicle yet only run the engine since I have a couple of other things to attend to.
