Default Tire Carrier getting VERY hard to open

Hey guys, the tire carrier on the back of my ZR2 is getting incredibly difficult to get open. Sometimes it just wont open. It seems like the handle is not pulling far enough to open it, however everything looks normal. What would you guys recommend I look at? I am thinking of removing and rebuilding the carrier, putting new bushings and painting it. Where would I find bushings and what not for it?

Thanks for any help

Have you tried some lube? Mine got a bit hard over winter and I lubed it up with some wd40 and its back to working perfect again I just hit every moving part with it.

I haven't yet but will tonight, will let you know how it goes.
Do you have any idea where to find all the bushings and what not for it as well?

Thanks for the help

Keeping it lubed up is key. As for parts? I'm not sure if LMC carries anything but a pull it yard would be my first choice and the dealer second. But check LMC first.
