torque converter bolt removal???
i'm swapping out my 4l60e for a 5 speed, i'm trying to unbolt my torque converter, but the flywheel turns when i try to lossen the bolts.
it's dark outside and i'm working on my back.
so maybe i missed something... whats the best way to hold the flywheel still while i wrench on these bolts??? a screwdriver between the teeth?

Not sure what you're workin' on (2pc case or 1pc case), but here's how I've done it on either setup. For the 2pc case, pull out one of the rubber plugs and stick a large screw driver or pry bar through engaging on the teeth in the flex plate. If you have a single peice case, then you can use a pry bar against the sloping edge of the transmission case to engage into the teeth on the flex plate. They also make tools specifically for this purpose provided you have full access to the flywheel.

They also make a tool that turns flywheels & flexplates that will work.

usually i just put a large wrench on the crankshaft bolt at the front of the engine. but that is usually only possible when the truck is up on a lift or you have two people. that way too its alot easier to turn the engine to get at the next bolts

2x on the LARGE screwdriver/mini-crowbar, works like a charm!
