So I recently got some black permatex inside my transmission pan by accident (flushed it all out now) problem is I believe it clogged up the torque converter solenoid.)

I believe this because now whenever I put the vehicle in any gear other than park/neutral the engine stalls (95 jimmy). it will still move forward/backword but I believe the converter itself is locked in 4th gear due to the solenoid being plugged.

I am asking here simply because pulling the transmission pan might take me a couple days as I need a few buddies to help me push it up onto some ramps.

 

Some information that might be helpful. Year, 4WD or 2WD, 4 door or 2 door. You should be able to get to the pan without ramps unless it is a 2WD.

 

1995 Gmc jimmy Slt 4x4, Told it's the exact same as the 95 blazer other than the logo itself.

AS for the pan I've had it off before which is how permatex got into the system. Removing the pan required removing the crossmember that holds up the transmission as well as loosening the exhaust, even then I still had to jack up the transmission to get the clearance to remove the pan without breaking the 3-2 downshift and pcm solenoids.

 

On my '95 Blazer I needed to remove the exhaust to get the trans pan to drop straight down, but I could get the pan to come off by dropping the front of the pan down (fluid spilling all over, what a mess!!) and then move it around enough to clear the solenoids and drop down.
I thought about just drilling a hole in the pan and installing a drain bolt....but never pulled the pan off again.
I used an entire bag of kitty litter soaking-up all that trans fluid.

 

I didnt remove the exhaust just took the bolts out of the Y neck on the drives side and loosened the ones on the passenger side (didnt want to take the spring loaded bolt all the way off as it looked like a bitch to get back on)

Just used a pri-bar to give me a bit more of a gap on the passenger side when re-inserting the pan above it (exhaust held the pan up once bar was removed.)

In any case I got it all fixed only issue now is 4hi seems to slip when I am in 1st gear (though this shouldn't be an issue since I rarely use 4wd) assuming it doesnt lead to other problems anyway. (never even used 4low simply because the button on the dash is broke)
