Ladies and Gents.. a FIRST! Not said to me since the mid sixties, if then. Cuz, like .. look at my sig!
I'm gonna print this and show it to my brothers.. who ARE Chevy peepul!

Naw.. it aint I'm a chevy peepul. It's that I'm human, and 68... and I just brain farted all over poor Broman, when -Randy was right, I was addressing him. And we're trying to help out with problems here.
But Randy.. I would respond the same -and have- if this were on the Mustang or Tbird forums.

Hell.. Look up the term I play on for my net name.. essentially means self important blowhard. So....I could just lurk and throw in the occasional zinger but I think anyone checks my posts I do try to help.

BTW I did second and third tier IT support for years... nothing new to me here.

Finally.. Randy, open your oil filler and sniff. good chance there's a strong gas smell.

Naw.. the poor guy is overwhelmed frustrated and venting.

It's the tech support {because that IS a lot of what we do here} miscommunication paradigm. I've had major law firm operations partners vent on me like that.. goes with the territory. Plus I was THE moderator on a soccer forum for five years. I get it, I got it and I can handle it.

But the guy asking help has to understand that there's no fact too trivial to check out .. or that making assumptions leads to exactly what happened here.

I've been really tempted to do the same thing calling for tech support. One time, on a printer... but I gritted teeth and let the guy through his script. Lo and behold, he was right, I was wrong. Doesnt happen much but it does happen.

Pettyfog ur right it was out of fustration and i can be a man and step up and say SORRY. I just don't kniw what to do cause i live paycheck to paycheck tryin to raise 3 kids and this is my only vehicle at this time and it's makin life very difficult at the moment. I'd say ur right bout the oil filler cause as it's running or as u get out after it running u can smell gas like someone spilt a jug of it. I've replaced what the guy at advance sd the code reader was saying was bad and i swear it's running worse everyday. I'm at a loss and don't know nothing bout these vehicles let alone a chevy period. Give me a mustang and i can build it to run high 6s in the 1/8. Not sayin much but hey im being honest im a ford guy. Once again SORRY for the way i came across and understand if no help from here is offered.

could have a fuel leak between pump and engine, get a pressure guage on it and check all fuel lines for leaks... very dangerous

Randy, I think you want to lift that upper intake and take a look.

Bet it's all shiny clean in spots
I've replaced what the guy at advance sd the code reader was saying was bad and i swear it's running worse everyday.
That's why we need to know the codes on here. Beleeive it or not I've had someone tell me that the autozone guy sold them new O2 sensor because of sensor reading lean. That crap should have been over with ten years ago

The principles are the same. The implementation is different. GM designed them this way for a good reason.. but you know what they say about good intentions. We just have to deal with it. It's why the trucks sell cheap

I'll jump in here and 2nd what everyone has said. It sounds to me like your injection system is leaking (spider injection is known for failures of this sort). Also if you're smelling gas it's definitely fuel system related. (as if that wasn't obvious enough). I'd definitely have a look under the vehicle for fuel leaks but i believe you'll find your problem under the upper intake plenum as Pettyfog has said.

Once again thx for the help and SORRY bout previous post. One more question, before i pull off the upper and start getting into this expensive repair i seen in another thread someone advised a guy to clean his iac. Someone also had mentioned it moving freely then. So my ? Is it supposed to move freely? I did pull mine out over the weekend before reading the thread of the other guy and it was lil dirty but had nothing to clean it with along with not aware what would be safe to clean with. But i did mess around with it with shop rag whipping most of the stuff away. When i first started it would not move at all but after a few whipes it was moving in and out. Nit knowing if it was bad or not(supposed to move) i called a local parts store to have them check a new one out. The guy said it didn't move and that mine was bad cause it was moving. Is that true or was mine stuck and i some what free'd it up? Thax
