Default Tranny Fill Tube

Folks,
I noticed over the last couple days that my shifting was a bit odd (like indecisive going into OD) so I checked my fluid level first thing and noticed I was a bit low.. it's down the the tip I did smell it and it doesn't smell burnt or anything thank GOD it's been real cold here lately so I think that saved my ****.... anyhow when I pulled my dipstick out I noticed that the inside of the tube is rusted.. I also read a TSB that they know this happens it's from an inferior grommet on the dipstick grommet and suggest replacing the tube and dipstick. Anyone know how tough it is to get this tube out?? is it just a bolt on the tranny and one on the block up top you can get to or do I have to play contortionist to get this thing out??

Thanx

I have a felling you have to be a contorsionist in order to change it, I will have to do the same thing if I do a trany flush.

That's a miserable job. You need 2 people to guide it into place, 1 up top and 1 below.
I'd check with the dealer and see if they will do anything for you before you attempt it yourself.
