Default Tranny problem

Ok, I searched all around, and couldn't find any answer. My tranny starts slipping when the motor gets to operating temperature. It shifts perfectly fine when its cold. But once it gets to temp. Its a slipper.... I just bought a filter and gasket set with 5 quarts of dextron VI (as per specs)... If this doesnt work, what else would cause this kinda B.S.? Thanks for any help guys

Im driving a 95 Jimmy. 144,000 miles on it. Like I said, it drives fine while cold. But once it is warm it wont start moving until it hits around 2500 to 3000 rpm's in first gear. Then itll shift into second and cruise but still feels like slipping.

And you are driving...?

Failing components inside the transmission will cause it to slip. You really need to get it diagnosed to determine the actual cause. Could be a failing torque converter, failed bands/clutches, a failed solenoid, etc... Anything at this point would be pure speculation. You haven't provided enough information about the problem & vehicle to really draw any conclusions.

I doubt changing the transmission fluid is going to help, but it is worth a try.

If it is slipping in all gears, then your torque converter is likely at fault.

A transmission diagnosis by a competent transmission shop will give you an idea of the fault(s) that may be present.

Well.... I am going to replace the filter and fluids tomorrow. I have been researching all over google about this, and I have narrowed it down somewhat....

1 - My fluid is to full (which it is extremely full, I filled it way to high after I put in my new radiator)
2 - My filter is clogged? (see that makes no sense, because it runs just fine when its cold)
3 - Maybe a wire is loose or messed up on a sensor? (lol, I found this somewhere, which makes no more sense then #2)
4 - My seals are messed up??
5 - My torque converter is messed up (but why does it work fine while its cold?)

We shall see. I will start from cheapest to new tranny.

Transmission fluid is more viscous when cold. The warmer it gets, the lower the viscosity.
