We need a bit more information from you. Do you have the Auto4wd option on your dash switch? If you do, then you require AutoTrak 2 fluid. I can't remember exactly how much fluid off the top of my head, but I know I have posted it in other threads in the past.

If you do not have the auto 4wd option, then regular Dexron ATF (automatic transmission fluid) is the factory fill.

The fill plug is above the drain plug. The fluid in your transfer case should be blue in color.

If it is red, then you are getting transmission fluid past the front seal on the transfer case.

The capacity depends on wether you have the NVG or the Borg Warner. The NVG is close to 2 qts if I recall and the Borg Warner is like 1.25qts. Either way you will need at least 2 qts. The NVG is magnesium and has plugs that look like a bolt with a big head on them. The Borg Warner is aluminum and has plugs that you put a socket wrench extension into.
