Default Transmission?

Whens a good time to change the fluid in it?

Or do you even have to? I dont know anything about transmissions.

Now is a good time... I recommend doing a full fluid flush every 30k to 50k depending on how you use the vehicle. Every 100k if you go with a fully synthetic fluid.

Ahh okay Im goin to do it fast then.

I had a friend say change th filter to? Should I?

What do i need to change it?

If you have to drop the pan, replace the filter while you are in there. You might as well. If you install a drain plug in the pan, then you should not have to change the filter again. Remember, an automatic transmission is a closed system. The only components that can plug up the filter are bits and pieces of the transmission itself.

Get Dexron 6 fluid. It is the newest synthetic available and is backwards compatible to Dexron 3. As far as the filter goes, they are all basically the same.
