Transmission Problem?
That's what I'm afraid of, that I'm going to have to either rebuild it or buy a new one. I've already been checking on prices for both. I've found a used trans close to here for $450 plus my old trans. Does that sound likea decent price?
Well I just took my blazer to have the transmissiondiagnosed and the shop said scanner came up with nothing and it was probably the "module" inside the transmission. They were "too busy"(so they said) to explain anything, told me I should take it to the dealer and have it serviced. That was soooo nice of them [:'(], like I hadn't thought of that before....lol. So where should I go from here?, Should I try another trans shop? or dealer? or what?
No they did not charge me. I have a chance to buy a 93 blazer for $500. The body is shot but everything else is "suppose" to be good on it. I know the people who have it and I don't think they would lie about anything being bad. About 8 months before they parked it, they had a new transmission put in it (I saw the reciepts for myself). So my question is will the trans out of the 93 work in my 95?
I am sorry to say, probably not. If the transmission that was put in has PWM embossed on the pump front cover (behind the torque converter), then yes, but if not, the torque converter pulse width modulation function (variable lockup) that came into play in 95 will not work.
Thanks for the info. So I guess my next question is would the body parts offmy 95 work on the 93? I know that may sound like a stupid question but the reason I ask is because the body is the only thing that is wrong with the other blazer.
