Default Transmission Rebuild

I have two 95 GMC Jimmys and one 99 Blazer. I have the Blazer and one Jimmy in tear down. Transmissions are out. The Jimmy 2x2 for sure needs a rebuild and the Blazer 4x4 just for the sake of having a fresh start. I had a ticking sound on the Jimmy with the transmission in. Once I took it out I fired it up and no tick. The previous owner had freeze plugs put in and the ticking started. Could the mechanic have put the flex plate on backwards? Cracked flex plate?Any thoughts on what might be causing the ticking? Can anyone recommend rebuild kits?

Default

We had the ticking on a full size. It ended up being the flex plate was bent and rubbing against the cover under the torque converter. Check that for witness marks 1st. If the plate has a crack in it it could cause a ticking.

Default A Nail

Ok, so today I opened up the transmission. The first thing to come out was a nail. How does a nail get inside a transmission. This was in after the pump!!! Could this explain the ticking?
