Its all up to your choice.
Honestly if your trany is going bad, you are safer to just spend the extra to get a GM crate trany w/ warranty.
For those of us that can rebuild them we do this with a master rebuild kit. Some appt. for a used Trany (about $500 for a used one) just to save time it takes to rebuild the current one. Myself I like to have a backup so if I do need to rebuild I have something to stick in and still be able to use it til its done.Or rebuild my backup and then I know I always have a good one sitting if need be.

I like Jasper products myself. 3yr 75,000 mile parts and labor warranty!!! For the very little I ever needed to file a warranty claim they always came through. I have a local guy also that is a graet rebuilder. I try not to use the used ones, They are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you ar egoing to get!!! It is like the old addage you get what you pay for. But the most expensive is not always the best either. If you are going to use a local rebuilder see if they will give you references, like if other shops in the area use them, go talk to those other shops and get some info. Korey.
