Default Transmission Slipping after trailer pulling this year

Hey all,

I've got a '95 S10 Blazer (4 door, 2WD, Auto trans.)... At about 75,000 miles, Chevy had to repalce the entire tranny (good thing for extended warranty, huh?) as it had lost reverse gear.

Now, I've got about 136,000 miles on the engine (and about 61,000 on this tranny).. and after some trailer pulling (14' Wells Cargo enclosed trailer w/ construction tools in it, a little pop-up camper, and my little 5x8 open bed utility trailer) this last summer and fall, I'm noticing in the last 2 weeks that the transmission is slipping, and it's going to higher RPM's before it shifts to the next gear. And that's without a trailer hitched up to the Blazer... It's slipping now with no extra load on the vehicle.

Of course, I've checked the fluid, and did have to top it up a bit - but the color of the fluid was a nice red color - not seemingly burned at all... What sort of things would cause this slipping? Could I have too much fluid in there? Should I simply do a full fluid change / filter change? Anything else I should look into before dropping the pan?

Thanks,
Rex S.

Sounds like your on the market for a tranny again. Do you have a trans cooler on it? If you do tons of towing you might want to buy a built trans from www.performabuilt.com or buy a hardcore rebuild kit and do it yourself or have someone do it. A good place is http://www.700r4l60e.com/store/custo...&cat=22&page=1

I have a friend that uses a kit from 700R4L60E.com in his LS1 and its taken a beating 600+RWHP and has lasted over a year and a half
