Turn the key pump turns on gage reads 61psi. Wait acouple of seconds hear the pump turn off and the gage reads zero. Take the key out and the gage goes back up to 61psi. Did i do this test right and if so is the pump good or bad?
thanks

Sounds like you have a pressure line leak somewhere near the tank. If the pump can't keep up with the leak and the requirements of the engine, the engine performance will suffer.
You really need to figure out where it is leaking from up on top of the tank. You'll have to atleast partially drop the tank to take a look. Do yourself a favor and pick up a mechanics mirror. I have about 3 different sizes/shapes and each one is worth 10x its weight in gold!

Is it possible to have a fuel leak even if i don't smell anything. Reason i'm asking is a couple of years ago i had a fuel leak in my honda and the only reason i found it was it stunk up the garage. I'm not smelling fuel from the truck or any signs of fuel on the ground.

Wait a minute here... Ignore my post... That was meant for a PM to someone who had a leak at the top of the tank and for some reason it made it here... Man am I tired...
Anyway, if the pressure is leaking down that fast, then you definitely have a leak. Crappy part is to determine if it is the fuel pressure regulator, you really have to pull the upper plenum off. If you have a mechanics mirror, you may be able to see into the back of the intake after removing the throttle body...
The fuel pressure not drop more than 2 psi after key off. If it drops fast like you describe, there is definitely something wrong.
