Really need help!! 2001 Blazer cranks but won't start
Several weeks ago I was using a pump for a raft, connected thru the cigarette lighter, and the car battery went dead. Got a jump and all was fine.
Couple of weeks later, drove the truck as usual and when I got out of a store it would try to start but would not fire over and start. We got a new battery to try becuase the battery gague was really low but this did nothing. Had the truck towed home and when it was off loaded from the tow truck we tired to start the Blazer and it started just fine! Noticed that the battery cables were pretty dirty so we cleaned them and had no problems until tonight.
My son took the truck to the store and once again it will try to start but just will not turn over and the battery gague is really low again! We tried to jump it but this did nothing at all. I am clueless as to what could possibly be wrong!
Does anyone have any suggestions as I really can not afford to take it to the shop.
I love my truck and have very little problems with it but right now I am just totally stuck!!

If you're alreadyhaving problems with corroded battery cables and terminals, try replacing those first. The corrosion can go deeper than the surface, and prevent a proper connection, and this can be affected by the vibrations of driving, thus the intermittant problem.
I would try removing the battery, take out the battery tray, and inspect the cables all the way down. Also consider getting your alt. tested (autozone and advance test for free)
