Angry Urgent...problem with fuel broken return line

Hello,

I need help urgently!! I was installing a fuel pump into a '98 Jimmy when I needed to shift the tank slightly. All was well until I heard a pop and then saw that the plastic return line on the pump snapped off near the hub.
Now, I am stuck.. Does anyone know how I could fix this??? Any tricks or glues??
Dan

Do you have enough sticking out of the hub to clamp a small piece of rubber hose onto? If so you could patch it with that.

My vote is also another new pump.

Is it possible that I can glue it back on then put a hose an clamp it together. What is the return pressure on that line? Do you think that this type of fix would work and be able to accommodate the pressure?

gasoline is a great solvent, it may dissolve any glue it comes in contact with

Did the exact same thing on my sis in laws Chrysler mini van. I was replacing the fuel filter that they decided to mount on top of the fuel pump with some weird plastic snap fittings. I broke the return line right off! $200 later, she has a brand new fuel pump. I tried all sorts of fixes I could think of, but nothing worked.

The real pisser? Nothing even wrong with the filter, or the plug wires I replaced trying to track down a misfire under-load. I had replaced her spark plugs the day before, and I had cracked one and it was grounding out on the manifold. I attached it to my toolbox. I tell people it's a $250 spark plug. Reminds me to check everything before throwing money at problems...

glue wont work, the gas will just eat it. The return line isnt very pressurized when compared to the inlet line, if there is enough plastic to attach the hose to with a hose clamp it could work. But you need a new sending unit assembly minus the pump, and use the existing pump to save some $$$.
