Default Vacuum lines??

Ok. I had all of my vacuum line replaced last year. This year there is a small leak. I'm wondering if vacuum lines are usually rubber. A different mechanic said he's going to have to replace the rubber lines with steel.

I want to be sure I'm not getting bent over with no lube. He made it sound like, "ugh rubber lines over the gas tank, and woven around everywhere"

I'm thinking I should tell him, "find the leak and fix it. Don't worry about the rest of the line."

I don't know, nor have I seen, everything. But the only vacuum lines I have ever seen on any motor have been rubber. Never Steel. I'd get a second opinion, if it were me.

Vacuum lines over the gas tank...A leak there should throw a check engine light for the EVAP system. There are rubber connections for the fuel tank pressure switch and other EVAP components...
