Seems like a good explanation. As long as it isn't detrimental to my vehicle, I'm not worried.

BTW since when did "Parking brake" replace "Emergency Brake"? Am I the only 26 year old that uses the old term?

They both say the same thing. I blame over sensitive views on the change because marketing people do not want to have anything labeled "Emergency" in their product (unless it is required by regulatory agencies).
