Vibration In Front End
There was a vibration while driving and could hear a change in the noise going around turns. Well the ujoints fell apart the other day and i got them fixed and the vibration is gone. Ive still got a tie rod end bad bc the wheel still will move at 9 and 3.
I still go with the tie rods myself. I have had trucks before when you hit the brakes it feel like the whole front end is going back and forth, look at the tie rods and could move them with my hands. Replace them and the problem fix. Now not saying the other conditons stated here could not be a part of the problem..but, like me, New Brakes, New Rotors (front), wheels balance and rotated every 7,000 miles (all four), new idler arm.
But I get the slightest 9 to 3 movement on the front tires (just started). And only when I hit the brakes at a higher speed, at lower speeds its okay. And I haven't grease the inner parts of the tie rods since I have had the truck (98K), grease the outer, but the inners you need a 90 degree end on the grease gun and do to me being lasy, I haven't made the trip to Napa to pick one up, Autozone don't have them.
So now I pay the price, but hey 98K on OEM tie rods..I figure I did good.
I try to keep my truck up in the maint dept, most of the work I do myself..but as I get older, I get lasier and say, there is always tomorrow (I know not good).

At high speeds when getting vibration, could be brake calibers. Piston could be going bad in either one to get your movement. (or both)
Just replaced upper/lower control arm bushings, ball joints, tie rods, and wheel barrings on a 96, 160k. Everything still OEM. Traded it straight out for it. Still did good as far as driving. Only bad thing was there was a lot of play on the steering wheel and it would make a clunk noise when backing up (coming to a stop).
