Wacky Warning Lites 98 Blazer
My '98 Blazer (LT) has recently given me "warnings" on the dash on an on-again off-again basis. This is what happens as I am driving along: The "ABS" & "Security" lites come on as well as the Battery symbol. Also, the Temp gauge stops working and the highlite that tells me the trans is in "D" (or any other gear) goes out. The symbol that says the seat belt is not fastened will also flash on/off sometimes too. I suspect NONE of these lites are valid as the Voltage Gauge & Alternator check out and the seat belt is not unfastened. These lites were on as I drove home but might be out next time I take it out. Odds are about 50/50 either way.
Anyone else having (or have had) this problem?
Anyone know how to make it stop?
Thanks

Thanks spittybays. I read thru several "ignition switch" posts and saw several members having the same or similar problem. Alas, no final solutions were posted. It seems the ignition switch is probably the culprit. I followed two suggestions. One was to wiggle the key and another was to reduce the # of keys hanging off the key ring. None had any affect initially. While driving a couple minutes with just the spare key everything reverted to normal (ABS lite off, gear position lite and Temp gauge working) except the "Security" and Battery symbol lites. This was a first as it was always everthing or nothing. On the way home from the store, these final two lites were off too. Unless advised otherwise by another reader I'll put this on the back burner for now since I have the dreaded P0300 trouble code to deal with. Still reading the many posts on this one!
