Ive replaced the intake manifold gasket twice on a new engine.
the intake is original, could it be cracked allowing water in the #2 cylinder and also in the.oil

Why did you replace the gaskets twice?

Did this problem start right after the gasket change?

Have you done a compression check (all cylinders)?

I did it twice to ensure i didnt mess up the 1st time. I had water in the oil a few minutes after starting the motor.
i just finished this build, i dont have any confidence in the machine shop i choose to do engine work. My thinking is the head is cracked, as the compressshop returned 1 vortec, 1 non vortec. I will do compression check this afternoon

So a shop has done work on the engine and you have replaced the LIM gaskets twice?

What work did the shop perform?

You found water in the oil after which engine work?

The engine shop was told to check heads for cracks and valve job as needed, r/r engine and crankshaft.
they lost my crank shaft, replaced with a new one from oriellys.
i was given the heads, upon installing, i found the vortec differences between them. Confronted engine shop as to employing a crackhead, they ordered me a new reman head. Again, from oriellys. I have no faith whatsoever in the work i paid for 2 years ago. Im only now ready to drive this vehicle.
please see build under my gallery of pix. Almost 3 years on the making.

That’s a nice looking truck, really cool.

So the long block has been rebuilt, the heads have been rebuilt/replaced, the LIM gaskets have been replaced twice, and the rebuilt motor is at zero miles but has water in the #2 cylinder and water in the oil?

Who assembled the heads to the block and who did the two LIM gasket replacements?

Did this rebuilt motor have any trouble free hours after all this work or are you in essence still trying to get the work finished successfully?

Yes to fresh 10 over block, new pistons. I have done all assembly, including the gasket swaps.
i brought newly assembled engine to temperature a few times checking this and thaandran perfectly.. An hour of run time total over a month. Noticed white smoke and a small miss developed.
Found milky dipstick, water shooting out of #2. 1st lim gasket done, ran about 15 minutes clean and perfect
Same gig again...
