Default Water in the domelight

2003 2dr

It has been raining for what seems like 4 months, get in the truck today to find water stains all down the sides of the rear side windows onto the plastic and water filled in the domelight right above the rear seats.

Where is the water coming from? (it looks like could be from the gap between the body and rear glass)

Would sealing it with silicone do the trick? Anything else it could be? Anyone have to deal with this before?

Thanks

You have one of the few without a roof rack?

I have a roof rack

and a sunroof, but that is not the issue, because the leak is from rear seat back

One guy did recently, can't remember who though. I think it was the door seal around the top of the hatch.

Could also be the third brake light leaking. or maybe a roof rack mount, more likely something in the center though i.e. door seal/brake light

Its not the rear hatch seal, leaking back towards the middle of the vehicle, but I like the rear brake light bar... I will check that out in the AM.

Is your headliner wet?
If I'm not mistaken there is a cross member that goes across the mid back roof. Water could be getting in anywhere across that member and pooling in it untill it leaks.

Or I could be making crap up, it wouldn't be the first time. Good luck.

It had leaked down the sides by the speakers in the rear once or twice before, but that was winter melting snow I just let it go... This time it had filled up the domelight and was dripping out of it, along with the sides.

The only area that was wet on the headliner was the domelight area straight back to where the curve hits the highest point of the roof. This makes me think the led bar could be the culprit. I am thinking there has to be some wiring channel from the dome light to the led that the water is flowing out.

At least thats what I am hoping...

It does appear that it was the LED bar, was too lazy to get it off, so I took some rtv and finely filled any crack I could find on it.

Been raining a ton since and have not seen a bit of water so far.
