Default Water pump?

So tonight me and my friend were driving and I stoped a stop light and all of a sudden smoke from under my hood. I pulled over and started looking around and theirs a big puddel under my blazer. We looked and the seal in between the block and pump is blown. Im wondering If I should just replace the seal or the hole pump? and its on a 99 blazer.

Also whats the mix for the water and antifreeze? Half and Half?

Replace the pump with a new one (not rebuilt). Yep, the mix is 50/50.

Check... air filter, fuel filter, fuel pressure, correct tranny operation, maybe do a tune-up.

If you know anything about the history of the pump and you are short on money you may want to just replace the gasket if that is all that is wrong. A water pump should last 50-100 thousand miles depending on the quality of the pump and luck. Yea if it goes out soon you will get to do it all over again but if the old pump was good for another 100,000 miles you wasted your money. When you get the pump off look at the hole bout 1/4" in diameter on the bottom of the pump. If it shows any sign of a stain coming from the hole the pump is starting to leak and it would be best to replace it. If there is no stain you can decide what to do. Be sure all the old gasket is off the block so you don't have a leak. Put a thin coat of grease on the side of the gasket that goes to the block. That way if you ever take it off again you won't have to scrape gasket off the block. You can put grease or gasket sealer on the pump side of the gasket.
