water rushing sound in dash
just started making a gushing sound from passenger side when i accelerate. coolant level is fine. idk what could cause it. maybe the heater core is starting to go bad?. i just did my intake gaskets yesturday so i have no idea.
Classic symptom of a partially plugged heater core. Run through a Heater Core Flush and see how that turns out.
i know that on my 95 it would make this noise every morning but would then go away, turned out to be a small leak in the heater core. at night after i parked it, a small amout the coolant in the core would drip out and let air in, when i would pull out of my driveway it would make the water rushing sound then go away once i drove it. a year later that drip turned into a leak and a new core was installed. once the new core was installed the water noise went away.....so my guess is that you either have air stuck in the core from the intake job or the core is on its way out.......lets pray for air....
if its slushing with the car moving it could be a clogged evap drain. ive never seen it on a s10 but other cars. its kinda funny to see a gallon of water fall out of that drain when its unclogged. my 90 fullsize does some weird bubbling gurgling noise when i shut it off too, dont really care cause i dont hear it while its running
i had the same problem..........it went on for about 2 months,,,,then....POOF a cloud of steam comes out of my vents as the heater core blew!..........replacing the heater core is a PITA.....i got a buddy who is a mech so i get a good deal, i was in the same boat as u , i really did not want to pull it apart.................i think if it leaks a little bit it should possibly drain out...if you park and notice little bits of coolant under the blazer then its a leak, i had little drops on my garage floor.........if you really want to put it off then keep an eye on coolant levels and replace it when its absolutly necessary..thats what i did
........(had the same problem in my 88 s15, but with that it was way easier to replace, to bad it went in the middle of the winter and i had to use an ice scraped on the INSIDE of my windshield).....with the blazer for the summer i had contemplated bypassing the heater core :P if you dont want heat..
