Just yesterday i was ran off of I-95 when an 18 wheeler blew two tires right beside me. was able to keep it under control but hit a wash out got back on the road and the rear end was bouncing like i bent the axle and the tire was wobbling. took it apart last night checked the axle was OK pulled the carrier was OK picked up new lube put everything back together now everything is working fine,..... Strange day. Anyone ever had that happen? Even the axle tube was flexing,.

any ideas on what could have been making the axle tube flex but not with the rotation of the axle i had alot of side load on that axle. i had to hammer that side out of the rear end and now everything is moving free and easy. i guess something got jammed.

Maybe one of your bearings was unseated when you hit the washout? Hopefully you inspected the bearings and seals when you had everything apart.

Ya checked all the bearings all were fine ( I just changed the axel bearings
2 weeks ago). So nothing like wasting new gear lube but hey I'd rather waste the lube then have a major repair. But I was thing it had to do more with the diff. I had a hard time getting the center pin out as well. It's been a few days all is still fine no weird noises for once luck was on my side lol.
