I searched and couldn't come up with anything pertaining to my problem, so hopefully someone will have some theories/solutions.

I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy. 4x4. 4-door.

Recently, whenever I start her up, the gas pedal sticks. The engine still has a nice smooth idle like it should, but the pedal sticks. I have to tap pretty hard on it to free it up. After its free it never does it again until I turn it off, and start it back up. This is now happening everytime I start it up.

I have checked the throttle cables and everything and have not found anywhere that would cause a problem.

Any ideas?

 

Have you removed the throttle body and given it a good cleaning?

 

worked for me, though why i did it was unrelated to the pedal sticking.
i was modding the throttle body blade/diverter and thought...hey might as well do whole job. later that day i realized the pedal wasnt sticking anymore..cant beat a two for deal.

 

I will try that. It is just weird that it only does it on startup though...
