I've been hearing weird noises coming from the front axel when I shift to the 4x4 Hi Mode. We had some heavy snow today and everytime I turn my steering wheel and accelerate a little I hear this weird noise like tire rubbing on another tire. Plus when my foot on the brake and I turn the wheels the tires vibrate alot!
I dont get that noise on the regular 2-wheel mode just when I engage the front axel.
What do you think the problem is here?
I've been noticing that thereis vibration also when I hit speed bumbs. I've changed my shocks, but I was told that I need to change my lower ball joints so I can get the best allignment and that might be another reason why I get the vibration!
I need some help.

Well it would help to know what year model the truck is etc. Depends on what size tires you have you could be rubbing the frame. But I would replace your lower ball joints if it has been recomended by an alignment technician...

Might not be this but it's a suggestion, When I first got my truck i went through some snow drift and some snow and ice got jambed everywhere. Rattled like you wouldn't believe plus alot of other noises. I just put the truck in a friends heated garage and overnight everything melted and was fine after that.

Same thing here. Last winter, I was out playing around and coated the entire undercarriage. It started makinga noise in the steering (similar to what you're discribing), but I let everything melt off and it was back to normal. Another thing is that my buddy told me the noise could have generated from upsetting a bushing from impacting snow. Once the bushing settled itself back into place, the noises would disappear. Sure enough, noises were gone within a week.
