Hey guys,
I have a 1997 Chevy Blazer 4.2L, my truck runs really well (knock on wood) but I was just curious about a sound coming from my engine when she runs uphill. Its almost like a liquid swishing sound coming from the engine that can be heard within the cab. Its kinda loud at times, the weird thing about it though is im not leaking any fluids...besides the oil of course (minor leakage). It's been happening for about 3 years now and only does it when the engine is moderately to fully warm. Any idea of the cause behind this? Thanks....

soung like water dribbling into a bucket or something like that? if so inlet to heater core partly stopped up. have a rad shop flush the core backwards. if thats not it you are on your own with that ( liquid swishing sound coming from the engine)!

It could be air trapped in the cooling system also.

Try putting the passenger side of the vehicle up on the curb or elevate it another way and open the cap to the radiator. Then rev the engine a few times a minute while its running and at temp. Should push all the air out of the cooling system.
Its a quick fix if it works. If not then I would suspect a plugged heater-core and that requires a quick back-flush. Either way, It shouldn't take you more than an half hour and a water hose to accomplish until you get around to a full flush.
There are quite a few posts on back flushing the heater core as it is a common problem on older vehicles.
