Default Weird steering noise

My 98 blazer has a very infrequent strange grrr in the steering. It isn't exactly a belt squeek, more of a growling or buzzing noise. It only occurs at low speeds or stopped, much like a traditional power steering noise if low on fluid or a loose belt.If I hear it and try to get out and look under the hood it won't reoccur. The fluid is full. It may be getting a little more frequent, so I'd like to try and figure out what this is before it implodes and strands me or something. Any known issues out there that any of you might be familiar with?

Default RE: Weird steering noise

Just read your post. I have the same problem, thought it was steering pump, changed that, worked for awhile, started again. I think I am going to have to change the steering box. I have read on other fourms about the same problem and changing the steering box solved it.
