Default What is this "box"?

I noticed that my windshield washer fluid was leaking. There was a puddle under the rear drivers side, right under the very rear corner. When I got under there, I see this box with fuel lines going to it, and a rubber hose. What is this box?

Change the coal, and invite all over for a BBQ. The old coal should be good and soaked with flammabl fluid.

The short answer is: No to changing anything, and fuel lines go to it to capture gas fumes as your fueling, and excess vapors created by the atmosphere (Thank Al Gore, the big Green Weenie).

The long answer is when you get evap error codes, your local mechanic will change the box out for you at a cost of $500.00, when all you really needed was a new gas cap (about $10.00). They do sometimes load up with raw gas, I've never seen one do it, but I have read about it (probably when I stayed at a Holiday In Express).
