Hi - just bought this 2001 GMC Jimmy and over by the driver side wheel well, there are a set of hoses and couplers and tubes just laying about. They obviously are shot and broke apart over the years, and no one ever chose to replace or repair them.

What are they for, and how should I go about fixing them? They aren't anything challenging or fancy, but for whatever reason, they were neglected. So I'm sure something's not functioning because of it now and I see no reason not to do an easy fix. But I just don't know what they are, if there's anything special I should know about them and their replacements, or if it's nothing to even bother with, which I sort of doubt. Otherwise, GMC wouldn't have gone through the trouble of engineering them in there. Thanks for your help.

If you do a search on here for hvac hose diagram, and find a thread by Christine. She write out what hose sizes and lengths needed to replace. And routing of the hoses.

I've been meaning to do this, but they are not as bad...

Your Blazer is going to run much better when those hoses are replaced....no more vacuum leak.

 

Those are the HVAC and 4wd supply vacuum hoses. Check out my thread in these in my signature below.
