Hello forum,
before I start dissambling my rear wiper motor on my 1997 blazer I would like to know what are the common failures.
I can see the motor moving for some dregrees than it stops.
When I turn it of the wiper goes in park position.
Is this failure mode common to a bad harness or the motor.
Thank you for your advice.
By the way I am posting from Germany. So I can't go to advance auto parts and quickly buy a new wiper motor.
Blazer are not common here. You find these cars like a needle in the heystack.
So parts supply is bad as well. So I better tear it down before I order one from the US to find the error.
Thank you for the help.

Not an expert here on the rear wiper, but the one on my '02 Blazer has an ATTITUDE....sometimes it works fine....other times...like when I could use it....does pretty much the same as you describe.
I think it is all motor or possibly dirty electrical contacts related. Try the simple stuff first, even though just getting to the darn thing requires removal of lots of trim panels.
My '02 Blazer has the tailgate...do not know if the lift gate wipers are exactly the same or not?

If it's like mine with controls on the lft side under the air vent its easy to pop that panel out and spray the heck out of it with electrical contact cleaner.
I have had some succes with that but it still has a mind of its own.
