Close, but I think the fogs are taped closer to the head lights.

I think, if that's a jimmy, that there might be a second temp sensor or such like on the hood latch support.

I'm trying to go through pictures I have to see if can see what it is...

let the race begin!

Outside air temp sensor, used in models with auto climate controls.

The one that's already on the core support is for the temp display in the overhead console.

For whatever reason, GM in their infinite wisdom couldn't just devise a way for both systems to use one sensor

My temp display shows random numbers. Has anyone had any luck replacing the sensor (driver's side)?

The compass is continually in cal mode so there may be some other problem.

Sounds like the unit itself in the roof console is malfunctioning.

It can be replaced individually (removed and swapped out of the entire roof console) if you find another one in a salvage yard. Just be aware that there are two different types; one with a MPG and trip meter built in and one without. Physically they're interchangeable, but the one with the trip reading has a couple more wires that the one without is not prewired for. Easiest way to tell them apart at a quick glance is by looking at the labels on the buttons on the left side of the display. The one that has the built in mileage trip and MPG readout has the buttons labeled "US/MET" and "MODE", and the one without the trip meter built in has the two buttons labeled "US/MET" and "ON/OFF".

Thanks! I didn't realize there were 2 types.
