I have a question...

There is a black box that is tucked away under the rear bumper on the driver side. It has some hoses going into it.

What is it?!?!

Is it a vital part to anything?!

Also, the brackets that hold it in place are rusted out... and its kinda hanging down. Is that a problem?????

Well considering I had NO clue where else I would ask this, I figured a "GENERAL TECH HELP" would be a proper place to begin. Also considering there is no dedicated thread to figuring out what something is, I would imagine "GENERAL TECH HELP" would be the first place to start.

Thank you for your input though.

Okay then. I apologize for my remarks then lol.

I'm no blazer enthusiast or anything and I didn't know what it was. I still kinda don't.

But while I'm on here, I have another question.

I'm getting TERRIBLY bad gas mileage right now. I'm talking like, 10 MPG. I haven't done any engine mods or anything to the extreme like that.

I recently had the fuel pump assembly replaced because mine was leaking fuel out of the gas tank while I was away at basic training.

What could this be?! I'm sick of putting gas in my truck every 2 days. My truck is running just fine, its not stalling or idling weird or anything.

Any idea when the last tune up was done? (plugs, filter, blah blah etc)

One trick that helps is to clean the maf. (mass airflow sensor). its that silver square looking thing between the airbox and throttle body. Buy some maf cleaner (anything else will kill it) and spray the inside of the maf down real good. let it dry and drive her.

I did the last tune up about a year and a half ago when I replaced the transmission, so I think its still good.

I'll have to give that a try though. Any little thing that can help is worth trying.

if your evap canister is hanging down and the hoses are broken or cracked it could cause the drop in milage. you should fix it
