What is this and why is it broken
Sorry for having to start a new thread, I recently bought a 2000 Chevy blazer LS and everything has worked great, but the other day the Heater Core went out and i finally got the dash off to find this mess. Not sure what it is, or the best method to fix it, or if this is the problem with my heating?

I also found 2 wires that weren't connected on a 4 connector spot, but i think should be, there were 2 of the 4 plugged in and it slipped my mine to mark the 2 that were plugged in, i'm defiantly learning a lot of bout my blazer as car mechanics.

Thanks.

So your complaint is you had no heat? What conditions and symptoms, specifically?
And no.. that's not the blend door actuator. That item is right above the one to the broken arm
Looks like a vent gating actuator to me. It only matters to the next people that read this, you gotta fix it anyway. However now would be a good time to look at your actual blend door actuator cause it's a common fail.
Rockauto has pix of various actuators

When i started the car in the morning everything was fine, then I turned on the heater and I heard a sound come from the glove compartment area and I haven't had heat since.
Oh.. and check your profile / visitor messages

Take the Blend door actuator off and check for broken pieces. See if you can move the shaft
