Default Whats going on?

Ok so about a week ago my parents bought me a 99 Blazer ZR2. I was driving today and noticed the DRL werent on and only came on when I turned the ****. Then I kept driving and the speedometer stopped working and just died. Then all of a sudden it was hardly moving. I noticed I was low on gas so I filled up and the problem persisted. It shifts barely, makes bad noises, speedometer doesnt work, and it just is sucking. Any idea what it could be?

Uh oh you just don't have the best of luck with vehicles. So besides what you mentioned, does it still drive around? Start with checking the tranny fluid. What type of noises are you talking about?

Yea my luck blows. And yes it still drives just not well and im afraid to keep driving it. It will rev to about 4500RPM before it shifts and when it does its not smooth at all. And when I stop and hit the gas you hear a clunk like metal hitting metal.

What about in park or neutral, does it idle rev ok? Hopefully it isn't a trans problem. Did you get any warranty with it?

one of my old cars used to do that. it had a tranny leak and started doing that when fluid was essentially gone.

if your blazer has a slow leak or weeping seal, over time from it sitting on a lot, it's understandable for there to be really low trans fluid

There is a warranty but looking around it could be the speed sensor. Searched around and found alot of the same problems being caused by this. Now the DRL i dunno whats wrong with those.

It's possible that a previous owner disabled the DRLs... Run a search on how to do that and you should be able to reverse it.

ORIGINAL: bmxbikes

And when I stop and hit the gas you hear a clunk like metal hitting metal.
this sounds like the driveshaft u-joint is broken, i would get underneath and turn it by hand and see if anything is bent or broken at the front of diff ujoint and yoke ujoint .
