Default my new HU worked great for 2 days, then stopped. whats going on?

I installed my HU and it worked great for two days and then I got in my blazer yesterday and started it up, snapped the faceplate in and the hu wouldn't turn on.

the power button lights up so I know its getting power but when I press the power button, nothing happens... any ideas?

Sounds like you are getting constant power but not switched. What did you use for your connections? did you actually use a harness or chop it up? Do you own a multimeter? do you know how to use it?

Bad switch? Removable face plates can be kinda screwy....

I used a scosche harness and used red butt connectors to crimp the wires together. could this be the issue? how necessary is soldering the connections?

also i think my dad has a multimeter and no, I'm not entirely sure how to use it.

Not sure what the issue was but at lunch I pulled the HU out through the dash and unplugged the harness and replugged it in... after that everything works fine. I suppose if anyone else has this issue, try unplugging and replugging, it could work

if it happens again, do as NJ4x4Blaze said and check your grounds. thats a usual culprit for screwiness. the butt connectors work great if you use them right.

i've seen it where people literally push the wires in and think they're set. so make sure when you crimped them to give them a little tug and make sure they aren't going anywhere ya know?
