Default What's this ground wire for?

Hey all, on my filler tube, toward the bottom there is this ground wire. I noticed it hanging down and wondered where it went and what its for. So i looked at my dads, had the remove the spare and saw he's was ripped too. i found the other end and it went to the cross member in the frame. Is this wire important? Thanks, Kane

Can not really tell from the pictures, but it likely is there to ground the filler neck to the body so there is a reduced possibility of static shock which may ignite the fuel vapors.

yes that sound right sorry bout the bad explanation lol it does come from the filler body, i just tied it to the frame, it should work well enough now.
