Where can I order this part?
All of my a-arms on my blazer are getting real rusty, and the rubber bushings/seals/guards that keep the a-arm from rubbing against the metal mount (frame). Well those rubber rings are really old and are craking real bad so I would like to change all of them. But where do I buy these?
Will this take care of one whole side...I should have taken a picture when I had the wheel off. All of the rubber bushings are cracked but if I am changing the bushing I mid as well change the ball joints on the outer arm while I have it apart...
A-Frame bushings... Advanced Auto Parts, NAPA, Pep Boys whatever is in your area.... They're not really a dealer only item. The WORK of replacing them....? That's a bit of a job, they're a press fit, a steel "tube" that fits into the A-frame with the rubber bushing in it. If they clunk, have slop or play, yes by all means they need replacing. But just for squeaking I think I'd start with grabbing the 'ol WD-40 or PB Blaster and spray 'em, drive it a bit, spray a bit more until/if the noise gets better. Anyone know of a good spray that's supposed to be rubber bushing friendly? On mine I'd be willing to swear it's the rear leaf springs that make the squeak, but it's not often or annoying enough I've taken the trouble to look...
<laughing> I guessed at craking = creaking instead of cracking yeah they do get all cracked looking. I've replaced them on a few cars but only because they were clunking and I could see the rubber was worn and sloppy and starting to fall apart inside of 'em. The cracking on the big outside ring is more of a cosmetic thing. But if you have to do a ball joint and things are already apart that is a good opportunity to do 'em..
