My motor whines when my 2000 blazer goes in reverse. What is causing this and how do I fix it? sounds like something is hitting the fan. But, i checked and it is nothing. But it only happens when the car is in reverse. Its strange. When i put the car in drive it stops. I does not make the sound when in idle or park, only in reverse. Please help me fix this. Thanks.

 

Are you sure it's from the motor and not the transmission?

 

Its comming from the very front of the motor..like around where the fan is. Maybe even in front of the fan. Could be something as simple as leaves or something stuck in the radiator and hitting the fan. But, I checked and nothing. This is really bothering me, I hope its nothing serious. But why does it only make the sound in reverse. I service my transmission on schedule and gets its fluids flushed and changed and new filters and all that.
