I have a 2000 blazer with whining noise only in 1st and reverse. It goes away once it shifts up to other gears, but comes back when it goes into 1st.
I have just replaced the valve body (refurbished can with solenoids) 2 months ago for the slippage code in the trany. Does anyone have any ideas what the whining noise could be?

Trans seems noisy when moving in 1st and Reverse, noise goes away instantly if you shift to N or the trans goes into 3rd gear: Reaction planetary is worn out due to high miles or insufficient lubrication. Not a critical failure, but not a good sign either. R&R sooner rather than later.
