My drivers side brake light started to act funny last month, just sort of working when it wanted to. I would use the left turn signal a few times and then the brake lights would work. Both filaments of both bubs work, turn signals work, running lights at night work, just won't work with the brakes. i tried changing the bulbs and nothing. The 3rd brake light and the passenger side brake light works fine. Could it be a relay or a fuse? I'm gunna take a quick look at the wiring by the lights, but I havent done any spicing in the back at all, so I don't know what has happened.

i had an issue like this on my 03 s10.......and 3 of my friends with s10s - 2000, 99, 01 and it was all the same thing. theres a ground that seemed to go faulty over there years. the only thing is it wasnt all the exactly same spot. but it was a rear ground for the tails on all of those trucks. and tailights would act all kinds of crazy over the deal. the only crappy part is having to chase it down and figure out exactly where its at after you find it a 5 minute fix.

Sounds easy enough, just have to find it. And it figures that it would happen now that it's freezing outside and not in the spring when it's nice and sunny and like 70 degrees lol

I poked around looking for clues and it turns out to be the bulb sockets themselves. The bulb isn't sitting in the snug enough and it's not making contact with the corresponding prongs causing the lights to not work. I just have to buy a couple new sockets and splice them in and I should be good.
