wierd noise from front end!

Default wierd noise from front end!

hey everyone new to the site ....i have a 97 gmc jimmy 4x4 while im driving down the road it has a dull humm ...like a wheel bearing starting to go ....i replaced both front wheel bearing with no luck ...if i push the 4x4 it goes quiet the front drive shaft seems tight and the front diff is full of oil any one have any similer problems ? thanks in advance

Could be that the front axle actuator is not fully disengaging. This could be due to a failed return spring at the actuator or a cable that is stiff.

i will have to look into the spring ..is it behind the little black cover on the pot? mine is push button 4x4 will it still have a cable ?

I have had the same problem. It may be do to the 4-wheel drive system. On mine you could feel it engaging and disengaging, but most of the time the 4-wheel drive dosen't work. Let me know what it's ends up being cause I haven't gotten mine fixed yet.
